July 25th: Jack London Sails to Join the Klondike Gold Rush
Jack London, of course, was the famous author of “White Fang”, “The Call of the Wild” and several other beloved books depicting the Alaskan wilderness. In 1897, at the ripe age of 21, he left San Francisco to join the Klondike gold rush in Alaska. Read a brief story about this trip here.

- A 2-page letter written in 1908 sold for $4,000
